My favorite books of 2016

Happy New Year, friends! I’m already planning my 2017 reading list, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Before I pull out my next great reads, let’s look back on a year of reading. I’ve listed everything I read this year, ranked in order of preference, for all of you. Yay! I set a goal to read 36 books this year, or 3 per month. Then life happened, and when our family moved across the country smack in the middle of the year, I fell behind and never quite caught up. But here are my… Read More

My Favorite Things – 2016

You know those years when you move across the country four months pregnant, take on new freelance clients that demand a lot of time, have a baby, and write a book? Those are the best kinds of years. But those good years are also some of the most stressful, demanding years. In 2016, I needed stuff to make my life easier, happier, and more fulfilling. But I know I’ll make it back sooner than later, and that I won’t have to… Read More

A little too kind

Jimmy Fallon was trending on Facebook today. Like pretty much everyone, I’m a big Jimmy Fallon fan, so I was excited. Was it a new epic lip sync battle? A favorite singer doing musical impressions? A new batch of thank you notes? Nope. He tousled Donald Trump’s hair. And the Internet went insane. If you don’t want to follow those links and read all about it, I’ll summarize: According to the Internet, Jimmy Fallon is an irresponsible media figure because he asked Trump easy questions and even “tried to make him… Read More
